Coffee Roaster
Cafelix
★ 4.6
The pioneering in-house roaster that launched Tel Aviv's light-roast specialty scene.
Cafelix is where Tel Aviv's specialty coffee story really begins. Long before the city had a third-wave scene to speak of, Cafelix was roasting bright, light-forward coffee in-house and serving it to anyone curious enough to try a cup that didn't taste burnt. That early conviction made it the reference point every later roaster measured itself against.
The coffee is the whole point here: clean, expressive light roasts pulled as precise espresso or brewed as filter, with retail bags to take the obsession home. The rooms are small and unfussy — a counter, a few seats, regulars who know the baristas by name. There's no pretension, just consistency.
Note the local rhythm: Cafelix closes for Shabbat, so plan around it. Cross town for it anyway — this is the cup that started everything.
