Alana's Coffee Roasters

Alana's has been roasting in small batches on Venice Boulevard in Mar Vista long enough to have built a loyal local following without ever needing to chase trends. The roastery side of the business is the foundation: beans are sourced thoughtfully, roasted on-site, and turned into a coffee programme that leans clean, light-medium, and single-origin friendly. The team will happily talk you through the current rotation.

The cafe is honest and warm. Espresso pulls are clean, milk drinks are well-balanced, and the pour-over is offered to order without the affectation that some specialty bars apply to it. Retail bags are stocked behind the counter for take-home; the online shop ships nationally.

The space's best feature is the back patio — a sun-drenched courtyard that becomes a neighbourhood living room on weekends, dogs included. Inside, a few tables and a counter that doesn't rush you. The crowd is mostly Mar Vista and Westside locals, joined by visitors who've made the trip specifically.
