Born from a profound personal journey, % Arabica was founded by Kenneth Shoji, whose experience after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake inspired him to purchase a coffee farm in Hawaii. This pivotal moment ignited a passion that blossomed into a global brand, driven by the motto "See the World Through Coffee," reflecting Shoji's love for travel and design.

Elevating their craft, Shoji famously persuaded world latte art champion Junichi Yamaguchi to join as head barista, ensuring every cup is a testament to unparalleled skill and dedication.The soul of % Arabica is deeply rooted in its minimalist aesthetic, drawing heavily from Japanese principles of simple beauty and the serene influence of its global flagship in Kyoto.

Each location is a unique architectural collaboration, designed to create an immersive experience. At the heart of their operation are custom-made Slayer espresso machines, renowned for their patented needle-valve technology, allowing for meticulous flow rate control and exceptional coffee extraction. Further demonstrating their commitment, % Arabica is actively pursuing a sustainability initiative, transitioning to biodegradable paper cups and phasing out all plastic containers.
