Cafezal — coffee roaster in Milan

Coffee Roaster

Cafezal

4.7 (1346)

Milan's first specialty roaster (2017) and Gambero Rosso's Best Roaster 2026 — in-house roasting on espresso and filter.

When Cafezal opened in 2017, it was Milan's first true specialty coffee roastery — and it has since grown into the city's most awarded, taking Gambero Rosso's Best Roaster honours for 2026. The coffee is roasted in-house with an artisanal, flavour-first approach, leaning on a rotating list that runs from approachable Brazilian lots to brighter single origins, served across espresso, pour-over and filter. The bars themselves are unmistakably Milanese — polished, considered, the kind of design-led spaces that have earned write-ups in Vogue and GQ as much as in coffee guides. Beyond the counter, Cafezal runs an online shop that ships across Italy and hosts brewing classes for anyone wanting to go deeper. The flagship sits on Via Solferino in Brera. It's the most complete expression of how seriously Milan now takes its coffee — pioneer credentials and polish in one cup.
