Right Side Coffee, founded by Joaquin Parra, embodies a unique blend of deep family heritage and audacious entrepreneurial spirit. Emerging from a prominent Spanish coffee lineage, Parra launched Right Side from his garage in 2012 with a mere 2,000 euros, naming it to reflect the creativity and passion essential for its growth.
A celebrated figure, Joaquin is a three-time Spanish Roasting Champion and achieved an impressive 4th place at the 2011 World Roasting Championship, quickly establishing Right Side as a pivotal pioneer in Barcelona's burgeoning third-wave coffee scene.The roastery's distinct character is further defined by its commitment to both tradition and innovation. Right Side meticulously roasts 100% directly imported coffee on beautifully restored vintage machines – a 1993 Probat L12 and a 1959 UG22 – blending classic craftsmanship with modern precision.
They actively collaborate with producers on experimental fermentation and drying projects, pushing quality boundaries at the source. For over a decade, Right Side operated exclusively as a wholesale roaster, a unique model that allowed them to dedicate unparalleled focus to sourcing and roasting exceptional beans for influential early specialty cafés like Satan's Coffee Corner.
