Tasa Coffee Roasters: Where Humboldt Park’s Heart Meets Specialty Coffee

Step inside Tasa Coffee Roasters and you’ll immediately sense a vibrant blend of neighborhood soul and specialty coffee excellence. Founded by Jackie Marquez, a skilled chef and proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, Tasa pulses with the energy of Chicago’s diverse Humboldt Park community. Jackie and her husband Pierre, having discovered their passion for coffee during the pandemic, built Tasa from a love of both culinary craft and the rich traditions surrounding coffee. Their journey through coffee’s global roots—from Mexico and Ethiopia to Colombia and Guatemala—fuels a menu that spotlights meticulously roasted beans, ethically sourced with a mission to support women-owned farms and ensure fair wages for producers.

Tasa isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a movement for equity and extraordinary flavor. The coffee portfolio shines with single-origin offerings and artful blends, each roasted on-site for peak freshness. Their menu stands out with house-made empanadas and Cuban sandwiches, echoing the owners’ culinary roots and commitment to delicious, authentic fare. Recognized by local media as one of Chicago’s hottest new cafés, Tasa’s inviting, woman-forward atmosphere and social responsibility ethos set it apart—making every cup an experience worth savoring and supporting.
