Way Bakery — specialty coffee shop in Helsinki

Specialty Coffee Shop

Way Bakery

4.4

Co-owned by Good Life Coffee's Lauri Pipinen. Good Life beans on the bar. Sourdough + natural wines + brunch.

Way Bakery is the kind of project that only works when the founders take both halves of the menu seriously. The Kallio café-bakery on Agricolankatu, next to Karhupuisto, was opened by Lauri Pipinen of Good Life Coffee together with chef Toni Kostian, Lauri Kähkönen, and natural-wine specialist Toni Feri of Let Me Wine — with support from the team behind Helsinki's one-Michelin-starred Grön.

The coffee side leans on Good Life Coffee, just a few streets away, and the bar pours espresso and filter from the same single-origin programme that anchors the Helsinki specialty scene. Pair that with sourdough loaves, flaky croissants, miso chocolate brownies, an avocado-toast all-day brunch and a tight natural-wine list, and Way functions as both a serious coffee stop and a full-day eating destination.

The room is warm and busy — wraparound terrace, big windows, regulars from open to close. It's the rare Helsinki cafe where the bakery, the wine and the coffee can each carry the visit on their own. Slot it onto any Kallio walk between Good Life and Sävy, or treat it as the destination.
