Barista Jam
★ 4.3
Sheung Wan brew-bar pioneer specialising in siphon and hand-drip, with a 2013 HK Barista Championship pedigree.
Barista Jam has been a fixture of Sheung Wan's specialty scene since the early days, tucked off the main streets on Jervois Street. The fit-out leans industrial — concrete, timber and a brew bar that does the talking — and the menu is built for people who care how the coffee is made.
This is a brew-method house first: siphon, hand-drip and pour-over alongside espresso pulled on world-class equipment, with a roasting side that took a Hong Kong Barista Championship title in 2013. There's a fair amount of indoor seating and a small all-day food menu, but the reason to come is the coffee craft. For filter drinkers and method nerds, it's one of the most rewarding stops on the island.
