Cloud Picker Coffee

4.6

Dublin's first micro-roastery. B Corp, Giesen-roasted, dedicated slow bar for filter.

Cloud Picker was Dublin City's first micro coffee roastery when Frank Kavanagh and Peter Sztal opened the doors in 2013. More than a decade later, the operation still runs small-batch and hand-to-order from a Giesen roaster at their Sheriff Street workshop, and B Corp certification underwrites a sustainability commitment that's structural, not stickered-on.

The Pearse Street café — tucked into the former projector room of the Palace Cinema — is a long, low-lit space with a dedicated slow bar at the back for filter brews. Espresso is dialled in tightly, but the heart of the programme is the V60 and the seasonal rotation. Members of the team have placed in the top three at Brewers Ireland, and you can feel the precision in how a pour-over is built and poured.

It's the kind of room that rewards a long sit. Order a filter, take the back nook, and watch a small operation that's been the backbone of Dublin's third wave do what it does best.
