Cucurucho Café — specialty coffee shop in Mexico City

Cucurucho Café

4.2

Minimalist specialty café. Locally sourced Mexican beans. Polanco / Condesa / Reforma / Cuauhtémoc.

Cucurucho is one of the few specialty operators in CDMX who has made Polanco work without going luxury-chain. The brand runs four locations across the city — Polanco, Condesa, Reforma and Cuauhtémoc — built on a consistent minimalist aesthetic and a tight espresso programme.

The coffee programme is locally sourced and origin-transparent. Mexican beans across the menu, with a rotating filter selection alongside the espresso bar. Pour-over is on the menu but Cucurucho is most clearly an espresso shop — flat whites, cortados, and milk drinks done with the kind of care that justifies the Polanco rent.

The rooms are spare in the best way: clean lines, soft wood, a single counter, intentionally limited seating. It's a discipline more European than Mexican — and one that translates well to the Polanco context, where most coffee leans either luxury-hotel or international-chain rather than craft specialty.

A useful go-to if you're in Polanco for other reasons and want a properly made flat white without compromise.
