Specialty Coffee Shop

Fika Fika

4.4

Nordic Roaster Championship–winning Scandinavian café with a rotating light-roast filter menu and rare Taiwanese single-origins.

Fika Fika has become an anchor in Taipei's specialty scene because it represents a very different interpretation of quality. Founder James Chen took the 2013 Nordic Roaster Championship — the first non-Nordic ever to win it — and brought that Scandinavian aesthetic and philosophy back to Zhongshan.

Everything here feels built around light, space, and calm. Instead of leaning into the intensity found in many specialty cafés, Fika Fika leans into comfort and clarity. The brews are clean and bright, with flavours that stay honest to the bean. They avoid heaviness; they let acidity feel natural rather than sharp. Local baristas talk about how difficult that clean-flavour-profile execution is to maintain consistently.

The rotating single-origin filter menu is the headline. You might find a Panama Deborah Geisha alongside an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe; importantly, Fika Fika is one of the few specialty cafés in Taipei that regularly features Taiwanese-grown beans on filter rotation. The interior looks as if it was imported straight from Stockholm — bright, minimalist, calm. Worth a slow visit when you want to taste what light-roast clarity actually means.
