Filtre Coffee & Roastery
★ 4.5
Kozyatağı roaster built on filter coffee and small two-kilo specialty batches.
Some places hide their philosophy; Filtre puts it in the name. This Kozyatağı roastery on the Asian side is built around filter coffee, and it backs the claim with the way it works — roasting in small specialty batches of around two kilos at a time, the better to dial in each lot.
That small-batch discipline lets Filtre build original blends and rotate single origins without cutting corners. The brew bar leads with pour-over and filter, with espresso and milk drinks on hand, and bags of beans ready for anyone who wants to recreate the cup at home. It's a roaster's roaster, more interested in flavour than fanfare.
The room is calm and quietly local, the kind of neighbourhood spot Kozyatağı regulars fold into their week. If you're exploring the Asian side beyond Kadıköy's core, it's well worth the short hop for a filter done properly.
