Friedhats: World-Class Coffee, Sustainable Soul, and Artistic Flair

Born from a chance meeting at "Headfirst" café, Friedhats is the brainchild of coffee luminaries Lex Wenneker and Dylan Sedgwick. Lex, a multiple-time Dutch Barista and Brewer Champion, famously clinched the World Barista Championship in 2016 and secured second place in 2018, bringing unparalleled expertise to every roast. Their journey began humbly in an old garage with a secondhand Giesen roaster, embodying their "Less marketing, more coffee" philosophy.

This commitment to quality and transparency, coupled with Lex's extensive background, including his early "De Espressobus" venture, defines their approach to specialty coffee.Friedhats stands out with its innovative spirit and dedication to sustainability. Eschewing traditional bags, they package their exceptional coffees in reusable and refillable plastic jars, a deliberate step towards environmental responsibility.

Each jar is adorned with unique, vibrant labels crafted by artist Ivo Yarns, adding an artistic dimension to their brand. Through platforms like Algrano, they champion direct trade, fostering strong relationships with producers. Their café, FUKU, offers not just their signature specialty brews but also "Super Special" competition-grade coffees, alongside a curated selection of natural wines and craft beers, creating a truly distinctive experience.
