Nylon Coffee Roasters

Open Nylon's website, look at any Singapore coffee guide, talk to any Singapore barista — they will all point to the same address. Tucked into the ground floor of an HDB block at Everton Park, Nylon Coffee Roasters has been pulling shots and roasting beans since 2012, and is the consensus pioneer of Singapore's third-wave movement.

The model is uncluttered. Founders Dennis Tang and Jia Min travel every year to producing countries — El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Colombia — building direct relationships with farms whose lots end up on the Nylon menu. Roasts run light, designed to let origin character through. The bar is a tight standing-room operation built around a La Marzocco machine and a small filter setup.

There's no music, no Wi-Fi, no laptops. You order, you taste, and if you've got questions the team will answer them in detail. For anyone serious about Singapore specialty coffee, Nylon is where the story begins — and is still essential reading.
