Origin Coffee Roasters, revered as the "Godfather of Specialty Coffee in South Africa," pioneered Cape Town's vibrant coffee scene. Founder Joel Singer, frustrated by the lack of quality coffee in the late '90s, established one of the country's first artisan roasters. Their historic Cape Town roastery, once a tobacco factory, embodies their deep roots.

Origin's Barista Academy has trained over 4,000 professionals, profoundly shaping the industry and producing South Africa's first-ever barista champion, Willem Pienaar.Origin's passion for exceptional coffee is evident in their diverse portfolio, sourcing and roasting approximately 50 different farm-traceable, specialty-grade coffees annually. They embrace innovation with experimental processing methods, offering intriguing selections like a whisky barrel-aged Colombian and a Rwandan coffee with 72-hour anaerobic cherry fermentation.

Their unique decaf, a single origin Red Bourbon from Colombia, uses a natural sugarcane process. This dedication to variety and quality, overseen by Head of Coffee Quality Jorge Alberto, solidifies Origin's legendary status.
