Founded by Andreas Astrup, ROAST embodies a mission-driven approach to specialty coffee, rooted in a non-profit ethos. Astrup is pioneering a groundbreaking "50-50" sourcing model, aiming to guarantee coffee producers 50% of the retail price.

This commitment reflects a deep desire to build a sustainable, transparent, and truly equal-partnership coffee supply chain, moving beyond traditional charity models to foster genuine farmer-to-consumer transparency. What began in 2014 with Astrup both roasting and serving has since blossomed into three vibrant locations across Copenhagen.

ROAST distinguishes itself by offering a full spectrum of specialty roast profiles—light, medium, and dark—making exceptional coffee accessible to a broader audience, a departure from many third-wave roasters. Their unique, scientific-inspired packaging, featuring country abbreviations and numbers like KEN¹², adds a distinctive touch. Coffee lovers can explore rare and diverse origins, including pour-overs from less common sources such as Burundi, Yemen, and Papua New Guinea, showcasing ROAST's dedication to an expansive and unique coffee portfolio.
