Single O Tokyo

4.6

Sydney roaster's Asian flagship. Rotating single-origin batch brew, self-serve cold brew taps, espresso-forward. Unique fast-paced format for Tokyo.

Single O opened its Ryogoku-area flagship in 2018, marking the Sydney roaster's first international location — and bringing a distinctly Australian energy to Tokyo's mostly meditative specialty scene. Where most Tokyo coffee venues lean quiet and ceremonial, Single O leans fast, social, and built around throughput without losing craft.

The flagship feature is the batch brew bar — typically four to six rotating single origins on filter, each clearly labelled with origin, process, and tasting notes. You can order a flight, compare side by side, or fill your own cup from the self-serve cold brew taps along the wall. Espresso is pulled on a Mavam under-counter setup that puts the coffee at eye level, not the barista.

Sourcing comes through Single O's long-running direct-trade relationships from Sydney HQ. The Tokyo roastery handles Asia distribution and supplies wholesale accounts across the region.

The space is bright, industrial, and built for both quick-stop and sit-down visits — large communal tables, plenty of standing room, and a small retail wall. A short walk from Ryogoku Station, and the most distinctive Australian-style specialty experience in the city.
