Süssmund Kaffee
★ 4.8
Slow-roasted on a handmade Greek drum roaster, fair-pay sourcing, Neubau cafe.
Süssmund Kaffee runs two halves: a cafe and showroom on Zieglergasse in Vienna's 7th district (Neubau), and a roastery on the city's outskirts where the actual work happens. The roastery sets Süssmund apart — they work with a handmade drum roaster from Greece, using a slow-roasting process that pulls out more complex aromas than the high-speed industrial approach used by most commodity coffee.
That technical commitment is paired with an explicit sourcing ethos: fair pay to coffee farmers, transparency about origins, and a focus on top-quality green beans. The cafe menu walks visitors through that work — espresso-based drinks, filter, and retail bags to take home.
For visitors walking the Neubau specialty corridor, Süssmund earns a stop alongside the nearby Kaffemik, Jonas Reindl and Wolfgang Coffee.
