Tormenta Coffee

3.8

Espresso-led specialty bar. Multi-region Mexican beans. Vinyl backbar, community-first.

Tormenta Coffee is one of those Roma Norte specialty bars where the room and the cup share equal billing. The project started as a street-food coffee stand, evolved into a small specialty café, and turned into a neighbourhood anchor — equal parts espresso programme and community space.

The coffee is multi-region: rotating Mexican single origins sourced from producers across Oaxaca, Chiapas and Veracruz, dialled tight on the espresso bar. Pour-over is on the menu but Tormenta is most clearly an espresso shop — flat whites, cortados, and short black pulls that reward attention.

The backbar runs on a turntable; vinyl rotation is part of the room's identity. Daytime locals stay for hours; evenings the energy lifts and the regulars cluster. It's the kind of place where the barista knows the order before you reach the counter, and where coffee feels social rather than ceremonial.

Drop in for an espresso, stay for a record, leave with beans.
