About Us Coffee is the work of Yasunari Sawanoi, who left the fashion world after a life-changing pour-over and built one of Kyoto's most decorated specialty roasteries. He's a CQI Q-grader and a certified Japan Brewers Cup judge who won the 2022 Coffee Collection roasting championship — and it shows in the bean list. He buys green coffee himself and roasts an unusually deep, fast-rotating range, from Panama Geisha and Ethiopia Gesha Village to anaerobic, carbonic-maceration and natural lots most cafés never touch. The shop sits in a quiet alley near Fushimi Inari Taisha, marked by a tall white "ABOUT US COFFEE" sign, with a stylish eat-in space, oat-milk lattes, cold brew, and sweets like Basque cheesecake and French toast. Dogs are welcome, and a tiered subscription ships the roasts nationwide. The name has a double meaning — everyone in the coffee chain is a lead character, and so are you. Come for the rarest cup in Fushimi.
