Amor Perfecto

Amor Perfecto was roasting specialty coffee in Bogotá when most Colombians still didn't know they had any — opening in the 1990s as one of the country's first third-wave operations. Today their Chapinero Alto flagship is part café, part roastery, part barista school. The coffee lab runs public cuppings most weekends and trains the country's competing baristas, including Diego Campos, who in 2021 became Colombia's first-ever World Barista Champion under their colours.

On the menu: rotating Colombian single-origins from regions like Tolima, Huila, and Nariño, pulled as espresso, milk-based drinks, batch brew, and pour-over. The space is the kind of warm, working roastery where the smell of beans coming off the drum hangs in the air and the staff actually want to talk about what's in your cup.

With seven National Barista Championship titles to the roastery's name, this is the most decorated room in Colombian specialty — and the obvious first stop on any Bogotá coffee crawl.
