Coffee Roaster

Azahar Coffee

4.6

Direct-trade with 420+ Colombian farmers, premium-price model, Acumen-backed social-impact roaster.

Azahar was founded in 2010 by Tyler Youngblood and Jayson Galvis after a South American road trip ended in falling in love with Colombian coffee — and noticing that very little of the value was going back to the farmers who grew it. They built a roastery around fixing that.

Today Azahar sources from more than 420 Colombian growers, many in post-conflict regions, at prices fixed 50 to 70% above local market rate. Most of the beans score above 86 on the SCA cupping scale. The Parque 93 flagship is the original of three Bogotá cafés, with sister locations in La Candelaria and San Felipe, and a cupping lab in Armenia (Quindío) where the sourcing and QC happens.

On the bar, expect a tight rotation of Colombian single-origins on espresso, batch brew, and filter, served in a bright, plant-leaning space that's quietly become one of Bogotá's most popular work-and-meet cafés. Backed by Acumen since the early days. The model is the point.
