Bros Beans & Beats

Bros Beans & Beats has been pouring specialty on Gartenhofstrasse 24 since long before Zurich's third wave was a phrase the rest of the city used. Sprudge's 2019 Zurich guide already had Bros on the shortlist with a single line: 'service excellence focus.' The bar runs a Henauer blend on the espresso side and filter coffee alongside — Henauer being one of Switzerland's most respected specialty roasters (Niederdorf 1896, now Höri).

The vibe is the differentiator. Hip-hop on the system, friendly fast bar, mid-Kreis 4 neighborhood pace. Weekdays are sandwiches, bowls, cakes, and steady espresso traffic. Weekends pivot to a richer brunch with music — a Kreis 4 anchor that doubles as a Saturday-morning ritual for the neighborhood.

Not the bar to visit for the deepest lab-style filter programme in the city — that's MAME, COFFEE, or slurp. — but the bar to visit for the most-loved third-wave room with the longest specialty tenure on this side of the Sihl.
