Commercial – The Project

4.8

Multi-roaster line-up: Balloon, Mame, Rose Coffee Roasters. V60 / Origami / AeroPress. Japanese-omakase aesthetic.

Nick Spanoudakis has lived in Switzerland since 2018 and opened Commercial in 2024 next to Bäckeranlage Park in District 4 — Feldstrasse 61. The Bahnhofstrasse 75/79 second location followed quickly, putting a serious specialty bar on Zurich's main commercial spine for the first time.

The format is multi-roaster: rotating beans from Balloon, Mame and Rose Coffee Roasters, dialled to bar standard. The hand-brew programme runs V60, Origami Brewer and AeroPress. The aesthetic is minimalist with Japanese-omakase tasting-menu DNA — every cup is a curated piece of the day's selection.

The Bahnhofstrasse bar is famously low-laptop — 'usually quiet inside, not overrun by the laptop crowd' — a deliberate counterpoint to the rest of the Bahnhofstrasse retail mile.
