The Good Coffee Society 1020

The Good Coffee Society 1020 sits at Ilgplatz 6 in Vienna's 2nd district — one of three sister locations across the city (Leopoldstadt, Mariahilf and Alsergrund), each running the same playbook with its own neighbourhood twist.

The coffee programme is unusually structured: an "à la carte" menu with 6 to 10 different roasters and beans rotating weekly, available across espresso and filter. Instead of locking into one in-house roaster, the team curates from across Europe's specialty scene — so a regular visit becomes a kind of slow tasting tour. The bar handles standard milk drinks with care, and the manual brew bar runs deeper than most multi-format cafés.

The food side carries equal weight: a brunch menu built around Green Shakshuka, avocado toast, and homemade sourdough pancakes with seasonal toppings. Open Mon–Fri 8–16, weekends 9–16, walk-in only. The kind of stop where two hours disappears before you notice.
