Manufact Coffee Roasters occupies one of the Schanze's most storied coffee addresses — Sternstraße 68, which evolved from the art-concept-store-turned-café Less Political, through Hermetic Coffee Roasters, into the house roaster it is today. The motto, "celebrating the diversity of coffee," sets the tone: a small but characterful room that's equally a café and a specialist shop, where a rotating line-up of own roasts shares space with filters, pots, grinders and other coffee curios you'll want to dig through. The vibe is unmistakably Schanze — industrial, a little hipster, set on a quieter stretch away from the busiest streets — but the coffee is the point, brewed with care and sold by people who clearly love the craft. A natural stop on any roaster crawl through the neighbourhood.
