Stockholm Coffee Roasters

4.6

Scandinavian light-roast specialist with fruity filters on syphon and V60 and espresso from a hand-lever Bosco machine.

When David Vahabi opened on Peter-Marquard-Straße in 2013, the very light, fruity Scandinavian roast profile he championed was still rare in Hamburg. More than a decade on — and now roasting under the Stockholm Coffee Roasters name — it remains the city's go-to for that clean, sweet Nordic style. Coffee is brewed cold overnight, fresh on a syphon or Hario V60, or pulled as espresso on a buttonless Bosco lever machine that Vahabi prefers for the texture and sweetness it coaxes out — "like vinyl versus MP3," as he once put it. The Swedish theme runs all the way through: fika-ready cinnamon buns, cascara-orange and espresso tonics, even craft beer and wine. Rebuilt from an old Winterhude apartment, the two calm seating rooms and sunny sidewalk benches draw neighbourhood regulars and coffee specialists who make the detour north. A quiet, deliberate place to slow down over a genuinely distinctive cup.
