Wanwan Coffee Roasters

Wanwan Coffee Roasters is the Bangkok home of Dawn Chan, one of Asia's most-decorated competition baristas. Three-time Hong Kong Barista Champion, Top 4 at the 2015 World Barista Championship, and Top 5 again in 2023 — Chan's competition pedigree is among the strongest of any owner-operator in the city.

The bar is built around an interactive cupping-style approach: tell the barista what you usually drink and they'll walk you through the menu until you find the cup that lands. Drip coffee from rotating beans sits alongside signature creative drinks — including the Meloncino, a watermelon, cherry, and white-grape iced espresso that's become Wanwan's calling card. Beans are roasted in-house.

The space sits on Nak Niwat Road in Lat Phrao, off the usual tourist circuit, with a feel closer to a friend's house than a café. Indoor and outdoor seating, a small lawn, dog-friendly, and quiet enough to actually talk to the barista. Worth the trip across town if you're chasing WBC-level coffee in Bangkok.
